Most wildflowers need sun. The right spot makes everything else easier.
Look for
- At least six hours of direct sun for most wildflowers
- Shelter from strong wind
- Drainage that suits your plants; most prefer well-drained soil
- A spot you'll see often, so you can enjoy it and spot weeds early
Shade?
Woodland natives such as wild geranium and columbine can work in part shade.
